About
Harrogate Spa Society is a non-profit cultural organisation advancing Harrogate as Britain’s Living Spa.
We are concerned with the past, present and future of Harrogate as a spa town, and with how its extraordinary inheritance of water, landscape, health, culture and place can continue to shape contemporary life.
Our work brings together people, knowledge and practice around a shared ambition: to carry Harrogate’s spa culture into a new age.
THE SOCIETY
The Society brings together a growing network of advisers, researchers, academics, practitioners and organisations working across landscape, ecology, heritage, health, culture and place.
We connect different forms of knowledge and expertise around the town, creating opportunities for research, collaboration and new ideas, while building relationships between local knowledge and wider thinking.
Harrogate is our starting point, but the questions are broader: how can the traditions of the spa town respond to contemporary challenges, and what might a new spa age look like today?
