Our archive brings together historic books, maps, photographs, postcards, reports, mineral analyses, printed ephemera and objects associated with the town’s spa history.
We are particularly interested in material that helps explain how the waters were understood and used, how the spa landscape developed and how Harrogate connected with wider traditions of bathing, medicine and spa culture in Britain and Europe.
The archive is continuing to grow through acquisition, donation and research, with selected material used to support the Society’s projects, interpretation and public programme.
